As part of the year 6 science curriculumn, the children are learning all about habitats and how animals adapt to their surrounding. A lady from 'Zoolab' visited our school and brought with her a variety of animals for the children to see (and handle if they wanted to!)

Victorians (09)

This terms topic is the Victorians. The children are learing all about the lives of children in Victorian times. The children have experienced a day as a Victorian child. The children were asked to come to school dress as a Victorian child would dress, they looked superb and really got into the spirt of the day. They then experienced the strictness of the teachers, the repetitiveness of the lessons and  sewing on the afternoon which they are going to turn into Christmas cards.

Year 6 children wanted to find out what are the best conditions for micro organisms to grow in.

In science the children have been learning about the importance of healthy living and all about micro organisms. We used a light machine to show the children how many micro organisms were on their hands and how easily they are transfered from one person to another. The children were very surprised at how easy 'germs' are transfered from person to person.
